Voices Around Your Area

What's it actually like to live there?

Vaya is the friend who already moved. Real voices from the cities people are moving to. What it costs, what it's like, whether you'd thrive there, told by the people who live it.

Why Vaya

Tourism boards sell you a postcard. We send you a correspondent.

Before you move, visit, or invest in a city, you ask one question. What's it really like? Today the only answers are a brochure, a 45-second clip, or a forum thread from three years ago. Vaya is the missing thing: a local newsroom in every city worth moving to, telling you the truth on camera.

The films

Every film answers a question. Some of them we can also fix.

The films are the point and they are free. Everything we know goes on camera, including the parts that put us off a sale. If a film leaves you wanting the thing done rather than explained, there is a line at the bottom of it. That is the only pitch.

Five viewings, one lease, and everything the brochure crops out. The lobby at 9pm, the lift at 8am, and what units on that floor actually closed at.

About

The product is local, all the way down.

Every Vaya city is a small local newsroom: a journalist and a videographer who live there, paid to show you the real thing: the costs, the neighborhoods, the work life, the culture, the opportunities. No parachuting in. No postcards. When Vaya grows, a local creative economy grows with it. That's the point.

Vaya means “go” in Spanish. It also spells what we do: Voices Around Your Area. Say it before a city, Vaya Manila, and it's an invitation. Go find out.
